About Michelle Zacks

Michelle Zacks honed her eye for design through 15 years in the fashion industry, building highly regarded clothing brands Spring&Clifton and Holy Tee, as well as collaboration collections with Urban Outfitters and the Reformation.

When fellow clothing designer Lyndsey Butler of VEDA came to Michelle for help developing a concept for the interior of her flagship store in SoHo, Michelle found herself in a new and exciting realm of creative direction.

The fortuitous collaboration launched a new career path for Ms. Zacks, inspiring her to launch her interior design company, Spaced Out. “I loved doing that project so much I decided at that moment to focus my energy on interiors,” says Zacks.

“I think I have a really unique and creative point of view to offer to interiors, coming from a fashion background,” says Zacks. “I’ve always loved telling a story through design, and I believe in the importance of “beautiful living.”

Spaced Out lets me share my thoughts on home and commercial design, as well as inner space and our magical world at large.

Michelle has since contributed decor work to acclaimed eatery Toro NYC, as well as nightlife venue BackBar. She is currently designing residences in Montclair, NJ and Pasadena, CA, and assisting esteemed interior design firm Rawlins Calderone in select projects. Michelle was born and raised in California and currently resides in New York, two places she credits with greatly influencing her design aesthetic.
